Elections 2023 – Middleton Stoney Parish Council

Join the Council and be a voice for the village.

Every four years the village has the opportunity to elect new members to represent them on the Parish Council.

This year is an election year.

Villagers are actively encouraged to apply to join the Parish Council – it is always good to welcome new members. Ideally, all age groups and a wide demographic should be represented on a Council and we’ve been lucky enough to have this in the past. There are seven seats on the Council, so if more than seven people stand, there will be a ballot and the seven candidates with the most votes get elected.

The Notice of Election will be published on Monday 27 March.

The nomination forms are already available on the Electoral Commission’s website at https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/i-am-a/candidate-or-agent/parish-council-elections-england but the Clerk will also be happy to provide printed copies if needed.

There are a few qualifications (such as being on the Electoral Register), but we would welcome anyone interested in putting themselves forward to stand as a Councillor so that they can contribute to the work of the Parish and village life.
